Wrap it up: the two words that build your memory

At the end of any working chat, say "wrap it up".

That is the whole habit. It takes thirty seconds.

What happens

Your AI goes back over the chat and:

  1. Pulls out the things worth keeping.
  2. Files each one into the right note.
  3. Saves any corrections as standing rules.
  4. Writes a short journal entry.
  5. Tells you exactly what it saved and where.

What you will see

Saved:
- policies/deposits.md: updated, deposit is
now 30% on bookings over $500
- suppliers/coastal-hire.md: new note with
contact, lead time and delivery fee
- business/hours.md: Sunday close moved to
  3pm from September
- Rule saved: call them guests, not customers
- Journal entry written for today

Nothing else from this chat was worth keeping.

Read it. If something is wrong, say so and it will fix it.

Why it matters

A chat ends and the answer goes with it. Next week you explain it all again.

Say the two words and it stays. Every chat after that starts from what you already worked out.

A chat that saved nothing taught your vault nothing.

When to say it

It works on your phone too. Say it out loud with the microphone on your keyboard.

Check it landed

Your AI should never tell you something is saved when it is not. If you want to be sure, open Notes on your vault website and look for what it named.

If it cannot reach your vault, it should tell you. See What to say when it goes wrong.
